Longer route to office, anyone? (2009)

Most of us are rut-dwellers. We constantly look for a rut and stick to it. You'd go to a new restaurant order a few dishes based on your experience and gut feel. You'd subconciously make a note of what you liked and what you didn't. After a few visits you'd have your favorites list ready. Next time you take someone along, you'd just dictate your favorites and follow the rut.

We take the same road to office. Go by the same means and around the same time.

We sit at same place, do the same work, behave in the same way and return home.

We read the same blogs, visit same websites.

We go to same shopping store for almost all the mundane shopping.

No wonder when someone asks "Wassup?" we have "Nothing new" as a reply.

How about trying something different? Trying a longer route to office? Forgetting mobile at home? Giving a smile to strangers? It aint easy, but I always find it totally worth the effort. It's a new experience, makes me fresh and smile. And a smile almost always inspires a few more smiles.

It takes gut to move out of rut.

So what's new?
